Chemical-physical characterization of materials

The experimental work of our team is focused on determining the specific chemical-physical properties required for each specific material and some examples of tests and methods are:

  • mixing and processing of polymers, inorganic fillers and additives;

  • analysis of the flame retardant properties of materials (and finished products) with the application of both international standards and exploratory tests;

  • mechanical, rheological, thermal and spectroscopic characterization of materials;

  • determination of the electrical and dielectric properties of insulating polymers and semiconductors;

  • accelerated thermal aging of materials (with and without radiation);

  • evaluation of the resistance of materials to solvents, hydrocarbons (aliphatic and aromatic), aqueous solutions at low and high temperature;

  • morphological analysis thanks to optical and electronic microscopy (SEM).
